Dodge made a huge styling change for 1967. The whole range was sharpened up, with most rounded elements abandoned, and the ’67 Dart was perhaps the smartest of the new models. The Dart range was reduced from 10 to six models and the small station wagons were dropped. The successful chassis remained the same but the body was squared off with a bold fender line running from front to back and a single style crease gradually falling along the side to cut off the rear wheel arch. The rear panel repeated the same theme as the front, with large square tail lights.

The grille was recessed with vertical bars and the GT had a central badge, which was repeated on the front fenders. The same engines were used, and included the 101 bhp 170 cid slant six, the 145 bhp 225 cid slant six, the 180 bhp 273 cid V-8 and the high performance 235 bhp 273.

The model series remained the same for the 1967 Dodge Dart. The 170 was the entry-level, with two-door and four-door sedans starting at $2,187. The 270 mid-range model was available as a two-door hardtop and four-door sedan, starting at $2,362. The GT was the top-level Dart, available as a two-door hardtop and convertible with bucket seats, a padded dash and full wheel covers. Prices began at $2,499.

As the muscle car wars picked up to a crescendo, options multiplied. They included power steering, power brakes, power front disc brakes, console for the GT, tinted glass, headrests, two-tone paint, Music Master AM radio, vinyl roof, Rallye suspension, tachometer on the GT, wheel covers, and whitewall tires.

Dodge offered 23 exterior colors for the 1967 Dart and seven interior colors. Paint choice included Mauve, Bright Blue, Silver, Black, Medium Blue, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Light Green, Dark Green, Dark Copper, Chestnut, Medium Turquoise, Dark Turquoise, Bronze, Bright Red, Dark Red, Yellow, Cream, Medium Copper, White, Light Tan, Medium Tan, and Gold. Two-tone paint jobs were available and could involve any of the colors offered, in any order. Interior colors were Copper, Black, Blue, Turquoise, Tan, Red and White, available in vinyl or vinyl and cloth.

Dodge production actually dropped slightly in 1967, but so did many other manufacturers and the division held onto the number seven spot nationally.
